This is the worst response/answer time I have ever seen. I had an issue at Walmart w a voucher and they were on hold for over an hour to talk to someone. I was on hold and two Walmart employees were on hold, so three phones waiting and took an hour to get someone to...

OMG they want like 12%, that's just unbelievably outrageous, I was gonna cash in about 600 bucks worth but NO WAY am I paying them over 60 bucks for it...blows my mind. They need to drop the rate to 5% or less. I've heard of charging for things but for a simple service...

Coinstar pays for the machine to be built and delivered. It maintains personel to service and manage the area reps.

The store gets a % of that fee. The company that picks up the coin gets part of that fee. They deliver the coins to brinks who process the coin bins and they get part of the fee. There are a lot of hands out for part of that fee.

I'm sure coinstar wishes they made that much on a transaction. All the costs of doing business. Even the banks have those processing fees, however a lot of times they eat the fees for their customers by moving them to their advertising budget to attract more customers. What if someone gave you $10,000 in pennies.

You would have to pay someone to pick them up, and where would he take them? You'd have to pay another company to take them off your hands to roll and process them..

Ripped off by Coinstar

Update by user Jan 25, 2016

After emailing Coinstar directly about my situation, they responded promptly and the situation has been completely resolved. The Coinstar rep called the Fry's store and apparently the Fry's store was not aware the the voucher does NOT require cash in on the same day. ...

I frequently have change i have to turn in. I go to coinstar on a weekly basis turning in 10 to 50 dollars in change per week. I recently started noticing the amounts that they say you turned in before the 10.9 percent fee is off anywhere from 4 to 15 dollars. I...

Why do I get the feeling that you have an unusually large amount of change to convert every week and you have a Treasury job involving thousands of dollars in coins - sounds like you're possibly a thief getting robbed of money you stole yourself.
