Robbing, ignoring. And inadequate support.
- - Coinstar charged a $35 fee on $240 and issued a $206 voucher.
- - Voucher valid for one day; 5 days later redemption refused.
- - Support unresponsive; legal action may follow.
People want to save your money and also your precious time.? In that case, never in your life put your saved coins in coinstar!!
Unfortunately, I made a bad decision and threw $240 into the coin machine, of course the Coinstar machine immediately "stole" the coin fee of $35 and printed a voucher worth only $206. But it doesn't end here. Since I didn't have time to redeem the voucher that day, I returned after 5 days to ShopRite made and used the coin machine from Coin star. To my surprise, the employee told me that she would not pay me the voucher because it was only valid for one day.
Of course, that really pissed me off, so I told her to call her manager, but he said the same thing, that he wouldn't pay me! My first feelings were that they want to rob me like this!!! Of course, I researched and found out that I am entitled to reimbursement of this voucher and that min. two years!!
So it is certain that they tried to rob me like this! That's why I say they tried, because they won't succeed. I tried to write to the support, but it only cost me my precious time, since after a month they didn't even sign me.
Please never in your life give even a penny to that company, they are scammers!!! Of course, if they don't write to me by the end of the month, my lawyer will contact them and we will go to court!
User's recommendation: No one put coins inside coin star machine ! Only when you want lose you money!!!

- - Crypto bought at a Coinstar machine; prompted to download the app.
- - I provided SSN, license photos, and a selfie.

Now they are holding my crypto hostage.
What a joke, and a nightmare! Never again will I use their service, also they already deducted their cut from my money, a large fee, yet arent releasing what I payed for.

A friend and I counted my change 3 times and came up with the same amount every time. I took it to the coin star in Walmart on woodruff road and it was 2 Dollars less than I had.
- - There should be an option to return all change if you disagree with the counted amount.
- - The machine counted $2.00 less and charged $5 to withdraw.
Should have an option to get all of your change back if you disagree with the amount the machine counted. I know I had $2.00 more than it said I did and no one is there to police it.
On top of the $2.00 it cheated me out of it charged 5 dollars to get cash. I feel raped.
User's recommendation: Do Not use a coin star take your change to a bank where it will be counted right.

Verified Reviewer |Should be illegal to take our money and charge us for the act
- - Coinstar at Sainsbury's charged £3 and printed a coupon for £19.22.
- - The coupon must be used the same day to redeem £19.22.
My wife used a Coinstar machine to change coins in Sainsbury's. They charged £3 and printed a coupon for £19.22.
However, when my wife gave me the coupon and asked me to use it, we found that it must be used the same day.
Else now, it seems we have been charged £3 in order to take and keep our money. I feel Sainsbury's should kick these guys out as it's damaging to their reputation also.

Verified Reviewer |EXCESSIVE FEES
- - CoinStar counts change automatically for a fee, and bills cost extra.
- - Cashier with rollers isn't offered.
- - DMCA will have all your money for a fee.
Only use if you are willing to pay the fee.
If you have a piggy bank full of coins. They give you two options.
Have a cashier count all the money with rollers. (Which they will not do). Or, go to a CoinStar that automatically counts the change for you (For a fee) So that you can have bills. (For an additional fee).
And, by the time that time the DMCA will have all your money. (For a fee).
- Way to deposit coins
- Unwanted attention
- Excessively high fees
- Carrying a lot of coins creates unnecessary
Preferred solution: A way to deposit coins hassle, headache, and fee free.

Verified ReviewerCoinstar machine robbed my son
- - Approx. $140; the machine took coins and froze.
- - Store manager opened it, couldn't fix, and asked for a number to call a technician.
- - No refund guarantee.
So my son wanted to cash in his hard-earned savings to dollars, approx. 140 dollars.
Roughly, the machine took almost all of the coins and stopped, froze up. I contacted the store manager; he came, opened it up, messed around with it for a minute, and then said there's nothing he can do but get my phone number and call a technician for the machine.
There was no guarantee that I would get my money back or when. This isn't right; there has to be something I can do about this.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Don't use
E gift cards
- - Amazon e-cards are not available in Hayesville and Murphy NC.
- - Request reinstatement of the Amazon selection.
I can no longer find Amazon e cards in Hayesville and Murphy NC.
All of the ecard offerings are restaurants that are not available in these markets.
For years I selected Amazon, and can no longer select.
Why is this and can the Amazon selection be reinstated.

- - I turned $110–$120 into an Amazon gift card, but got $81.03.
- - I've been on calls since Monday; unresolved and I want a class action.
there has been no response from coinstar
I took a minimum of 110 dollars, but probably 120 dollars, to turn into an Amazon gift card. The gift came out with 81.03 dollars!!!
I have been on the phone with customer service since Monday and still have not resolved this. I think there needs to be a class action suit against this company.
- Thought it was a simple accurate process
- Are crooks

- - Lost $83 because a Starbucks gift card was canceled.
- - Neither Starbucks nor Coinstar will help and each blames the other.
Lost $83 because I was given a gift card to Starbucks which was cancelled?! and neither Starbucks or Coinstar is willing to help. All they can tell me is it was cancelled and they are pointing the finger at each other for whos responsible.
